Restore Dignity ... This is why

Below is an example of requests we receive from people and projects we are not yet partnered with. Although I have heard it 100x before, it totally gutted me on the inside and again reminded me afresh of why I am doing what I am doing.

The number of challenges, road-blocks and insurmountable odds sometimes makes you want to turn your head and pretend there is no problem ... but in those moments like a clarion call for help these type of email messages I get from our implementing partners move me to tears and then inspire me to keep going... one step in front of the other.

"Hi My name is Josephine*, I am a volunteer with G United, a national volunteering program launched in 2014.
I am currently deployed in West Pokot, Lelan Ward, Manian Primary. I have been at the school for the past 2 weeks and on June 4th I witness a sad, devastating and humiliating scene of a class 8 girl who is also a younger mother.
It's because of that incident that I am writing to you today, kindly requesting for you help. Here in West Pokot, menstruation is considered a disease and a taboo, young girls as low as class three have already undergone the process.
In my school, a number of girls are young mothers from very poor background having a second chance at education. The girl in question is the school's index one. Being a young mother to a baby girl enrolled at the same school (baby class), the incident completely crushed her self esteem directly affecting her studies.
She is just but one among hundreds of girls here in West Pokot. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely Josephine"

*Name has been changed

I don't want one more girl's self esteem crushed due to a tale-tell sign of a stain on the back of her skirt.

For those of you who are trying to help us with our cause to bring dignity, I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. Some of you may or may not know me or Transformation Textiles except by a friend that has shared this opportunity with you. Yes this need is so real. We are working to do all we can to bring dignity to the most desperate and vulnerable girls and women.

If you want to just directly give you can do so here via our partnering Charity "For Her Dignity" (please follow the instructions to get tax receipts from your respective country (USA or Canada).
