What is THREADS Manufacturing?
THREADS Manufacturing is a systematic process that improves the operations of textiles manufacturers in optimizing their people, product lines, and environmental impact. The sustainable system was designed by Rachel Starkey while partnering with Alexa Apparels starting 2012.
The benefits of the THREADS system assists in improving the quality of the product, the impact to the environment, and the overall health of the organization.
How does THREADS Manufacturing work?
The THREADS System is made up of seven quality standards that helps the organization make significant positive impacts for their customers, staff, and the health of the communities in which they are located.

QS1 - Transparency
Lack of transparency is proven to hinder accountability. Sharing of essential data across company operations as it pertains to the three main threads of materials, people, and impacts is critical to overall success.
QS2 - Health & Safety
Placing worker safety as a top priority has been proven to create financial health in manufacturing. A healthy and safe work environment helps to increase productivity and identify areas for growth.
QS3 - Reduction of Waste
Waste elimination is one of the most effective ways to increase profitability. THREADS factories are provided proprietary and proven solutions that assist in reducing the waste of materials, time, and energy.
QS4 - Employment & Entrepreneurship
The THREAD system helps to train employees in a lower stress environment that helps to increase overall retention. Employees are also offered the opportunity to learn entrepreneurial skills with the additional products that are made.
